About
About Rose Quartz Glow
A small set of free tools for one everyday question: how to deal sensibly with the sun.
What is here
- UV index forecast: seven days of hourly UV for any place, on the World Health Organization's scale.
- Sunscreen amount calculator: how much sunscreen covers your bare skin at the 2 mg/cm² used to test SPF.
- Sunscreen reapply timer: a countdown to the next coat, following the reapplication rules on sunscreen labels.
- SPF and PA ratings explained: what the numbers and marks on a label mean in practice.
How it works
Everything is calculated in your browser. The only outside service is Open-Meteo, which supplies the UV forecast and the place search on the forecast page; nothing you enter in the calculators or the timer leaves your device. The privacy page lists exactly what is sent and stored.
Where the numbers come from
Each page names its sources: the WHO Global Solar UV Index guide, the US FDA's sunscreen rules, the EU recommendation on sunscreen claims, ISO test standards, the Japan Cosmetic Industry Association, the American Academy of Dermatology, the British Association of Dermatologists, the NHS and peer-reviewed studies. Where sources disagree or a figure is an estimate, the page says so.
What it is not
Rose Quartz Glow is not medical advice and does not recommend or sell any product. It cannot know your skin type, your medicines or your health, and it makes no promise that any sunscreen or habit will prevent sunburn or skin damage. Ask a doctor, dermatologist or pharmacist about your own situation.
